Shenina Cinnamon Dan Trauma Dalam Trailer Perdana Film Tale Of The Land

JAKARTA - KawanKawan Media's Tale of the Land film will premiere at the 2024 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). Ahead of its broadcast, they released a trailer that showed a little of the story.

This nearly two-minute trailer features the figure of May, played by Shenina Cinnamon. He looks traumatized after being left behind by his parents due to land conflicts.

The grandfather, Tuha, told that May was always guarded by their ancestors. When May tried to tread the ground, he was surprised by what was in front of him.

Tale of the Land tells the story of May (Shenna Cinnamon), a Dayak girl who is traumatized after her parents died and makes her unable to walk on the ground. May lives with Tuha (Arswendy Bening Swara) in a house floating on the water and far from the ground.

By understanding the uncertainty of the Kalimantan natural environment, they design effective production and arrangements to address existing challenges. By taking 90% of the films on the water, this film creates an immersive experience, strengthening its fantasy elements.

Directed by Loeloe Hendra, this film also stars Angga Yunanda and Yusuf Mahardika. This film is also the reunion of Arswendy and Shenina after the films Badrun & Loundri in 2023.

Tale of the Land presents a story about land. Personally, this film is a combination of my childhood imagination and the social reality of society in Kalimantan today. From here I want to show that something is changing and shifting," said Loeloe Hendra.

The condition that occurs in May's character is a form of my question about the situation. What if humans can't live on land? What if we have a large area of land, but we can't set foot on it anymore? What about someone who was born on his ancestral land, but then forced to go to death to pick him up and can't return to his homeland anymore," he said.

Tale of the Land is one of the Indonesian films that will air on BIFF 2024 which will take place from Wednesday, October 2 to October 11, 2024 in Busan, South Korea.
