KPK Waits For The DPR's Breakthrough For The 2024-2029 Period To Strengthen Corruption Eradication

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hopes that the DPR RI for the 2024-2029 period will further strengthen efforts to eradicate corruption through its breakthroughs. They are asked to carry out their functions optimally.

"We have high hopes for members of the DPR for the 2024-2029 period who have been inaugurated to strengthen the eradication of corruption through the legislative function," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted on Wednesday, October 2.

Tessa also said that her agency hopes that the DPR RI will immediately ratify the Asset Confiscation Bill (RUU). This law should be a priority because it has the aim of maximizing asset recovery from criminal acts of corruption.

"We believe that eradicating corruption as law enforcement can also be an optimal and effective asset recovery for state revenue through non-tax state revenues," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

In addition, the anti-corruption commission also hopes that legislators who have just been inaugurated can carry out their duties with integrity. "So that every political process in the preparation of public policies and supervision is solely in the context of the benefit of the people and avoiding corrupt practices," said Tessa.
