Kasus Tak Kunjung Rampung, Polda Metro Bakal Check Lagi Firli Bahuri

JAKARTA - The police will again examine former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri regarding the handling of three alleged criminal acts.

It is known that Firli Bahuri is suspected of extorting and/or receiving gratuities, meeting with litigants, and money laundering (TPPU).

"It is true, the person concerned will be examined or questioned again," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak when confirmed, Wednesday, October 2.

However, it was not conveyed in detail about when the examination of Firli Bahuri would be carried out. It was only emphasized that the handling of the case was carried out in a professional and accountable manner.

"Later we will update (about the time of the examination)," said Ade.

As a reminder, Firli Bahuri is suspected of extorting and or receiving gratuities from the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan), Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

For the development of its handling, investigators are said to be still completing the case files in accordance with the instructions of the research prosecutor at the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati).

Investigators have several times transferred the case files for the alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities to the Prosecutor's Office. However, it is still declared incomplete.

In this case, Firli Bahuri is suspected of violating Article 12 e or Article 12 B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

Meanwhile, the second case involving Firli Bahuri is about the alleged violation of the KPK Law. Where, the former chairman of the KPK for the 2019-2023 period was suspected of meeting with Syahrul Yasin Limpo, who at that time had a match.

One of the two meetings took place at the Badminton Sports Center (GOR) in the Central Jakarta area.

It is known that the prohibition of KPK officials from meeting with litigants is regulated in Article 36 in conjunction with Article 65 of Law Number 30 of 2002 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission.

As for the TPPU, the police are still investigating the allegation. Several witnesses are said to have been questioned.
