Residents Persecution To Criticality, 2 Motorcycle Gang Members In Bengkulu Named Suspects

BENGKULU - The Bengkulu City Resort Police (Polresta) named two suspects, namely FI (19) and DS (19) who are members of a motorcycle gang related to a case of abuse on Jalan Kapuas some time ago.

Bengkulu Police Chief Kombes Pol Deddy Nata in Bengkulu City, said that the two suspects had been detained and investigated several people.

"From several people who were investigated for cases of abuse on Jalan Kapuas, we have named two suspects, and we are pursuing the parties involved," said Deddy, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 2.

He explained that in the case of the persecution and beating, there were nine people involved, two had been named as suspects, the other two were on the wanted list (DPO) and five people were still under investigation and deepening.

Therefore, the two suspects were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code and threatened with seven years in prison.

Meanwhile, for the chronology of events, there was a commotion between the Wagana gang and other teams.

"From there the dispute occurred, the Wagana team drafted and planned persecution until the Kapuas road incident occurred," he said.

When attacking the victim, the perpetrators used masks so that their faces were unknown and for different perpetrators, such as someone who abused the victim using a sharp weapon until someone beat the victim using a fist.

"Starting from the friends of the perpetrators being attacked, then they made plans to attack back. They used masks when they attacked, some carried sharp weapons," explained Deddy.

Following up on the case, on September 26, 2024, the Bengkulu Police also arrested other motorcycle gang members for carrying sharp weapons to attack other groups, but were not punished for being 14 years old.

"We do not present one person who is 14 years old, of course, assistance will be provided with Fathers. He was involved in a crime of carrying sharp weapons. The reason is that they will be attacked by youth groups from around Muhajirin. Previously they had gathered around Simpang Skip," he explained.

Of the 12 motorcycle gangs indicated to be in Bengkulu City, two of them have been arrested and one of them is the Wagaya 17 motorcycle gang. For this reason, the Bengkulu Police and the ranks of the Sector Police are still hunting for other motorcycle gangs that often disturb the people of Bengkulu City.
