Puan Maharani Officially Becomes Chair Of The DPR Again
JAKARTA - The 2nd Plenary Meeting for the first session of 2024-2029 has agreed on five new DPR leaders. They agreed that members of the DPR from the PDIP faction, Puan Maharani, were the chairman of the DPR.
Meanwhile, the four positions of Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives were occupied by members of the Golkar faction, Adies Kadir, Gerindra faction member Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, NasDem faction member Saan Mustopa and PKB faction member Cucun Syamsurijal.
"In accordance with the results of the consultation meeting of the interim leadership of the DPR and representatives of political parties on October 1, 2024. That the leadership of the DPR is, one, Puan Maharani from the PDIP faction as Chair of the DPR RI. Two, Adies Kadir's brother from the Golkar Party faction as Deputy Chairman of the DPR RI. Three, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad from the Gerindra Party faction as Deputy Chair of the DPR RI. Fourth, Saan Mustopa's brother from the NasDem Faction as Deputy Chairman of the DPR RI. Five, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurikul's brother from the PKB faction as Deputy Chair of the DPR RI," said the chairman of the DPR while Guntur Sasono as chairman of the plenary meeting, Tuesday, October 1.
After reading the names, Guntur then asked for the approval of all members of the council who were present.
"Is it approved, and appointed as chairman and deputy chairman of the DPR RI for the membership period 2024-2029. I ask for his opinion? Agree?" asked Guntur followed by a call of agreement while tapping the hammer of approval.

According to notes from the Secretariat General of the DPR, the list of attendance at the start of the DPR plenary meeting today was signed by 383 of the 579 members of the DPR RI and attended by members of all parties in the DPR with details of the PDIP faction present 97 out of 109 members, the Golkar Party faction is present 57 out of 102 members.
The Gerindra Party faction was present 65 out of 86 members, the NasDem Party faction was present 37 out of 69 members, the PKB faction was 29 out of 68 members, the PKS faction was 46 out of 53 members. The Democratic Party faction was present 20 out of 44 members, and the PAN faction was present 40 out of 48 members.
