Info From The PKS Elite, The Number Of Ministries In The Prabowo-Gibran Government Is Above 40
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the PKS Syuro Council, Sohibul Iman, said that based on the information he obtained, the number of ministerial nomenclatures in the upcoming government would number above 40.
"So what I'll hear later is that it could be 40," said Sohibul when he attended the inauguration ceremony for DPR members, DPD, and MPR for the 2024 period, 2029 at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 1.
Because, he said, the Draft Law on Amendments to Law Number 39 of 2008 concerning the Ministry of State (RUU of the Ministry of State) has been approved into law.
For this reason, he said that determining the nomenclature of the ministry is a right pocketed by the elected president.
"So there are no restrictions," he said.
He also agreed that the increasing number of ministerial nomenclatures in the upcoming government will also have implications for increasing the number of commissions in the DPR RI.
"Now there are 11 (commissions) yes, maybe 13, maybe 14 commissions," he said.
Previously, Thursday (26/9), Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, said that the number of commissions in the House of Representatives as a means of completing the council would later adjust to the needs of the upcoming government nomenclature.
"Of course then the DPR will adjust how much, then the need to adjust, be adjusted to the needs to adapt to the existing ministries," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday.
The discourse on increasing the number of ministries in the government cabinet for the 2024 '2029 period follows the revision of the Law on the State Ministry which was later approved into law at the DPR RI Plenary Meeting, Jakarta, Thursday (19/9).

One of the crucial provisions made by the amendments in this bill is to accommodate the formation of the number of ministries according to the needs of the president so that it is not limited to only 34 ministries, such as the provisions in the law that have not been changed.
