President Jokowi's Son-in-Law Bobby Nasution Asks The Minister Of Transportation To Add 4 Trans Metro Deli Corridors In Medan
JAKARTA - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution will add 4 Trans Metro Deli corridors. This mode of transportation is indeed welcomed by Medan residents.
From the data from Pemko Medan, there were 2,125,755 passengers recorded since it was first launched. Therefore, Mayor Bobby Nasution submitted a request to the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi regarding the addition of the Trans Metro Deli corridor.
This request was conveyed by President Jokowi's son-in-law, Bobby Nasution while attending a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) which discussed the role of the central government and local governments in the push and pull strategy in organizing urban mass public transportation with a Buy The Service (BTS) service delivery scheme.
The Mayor of Medan said that the Medan City Government had submitted a letter to add BTS corridors to complete the 5 previously available corridors. The five corridors include the Amplas corridor, the Pinang Baris corridor, the Tuntung corridor, the Tembung corridor and the Belawan corridor.
Bobby Nasution hopes that the addition of 4 BTS corridors can accommodate more Medan people related to transportation. Bobby Nasution believes that Trans Metro Deli can also break down traffic jams.
Bobby Nasution said that the culture of using mass transportation is being promoted by the Medan City Government in order to divert the mode of transportation from private vehicles.
With this BTS, it certainly provides a more convenient choice or alternative for mass transportation. The mayor's wish was appreciated by the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia and will be a priority to be fulfilled.
VOI's notes on Bobby Nasution's promiseBobby Nasution during the 2020 Medan Pilkada paid attention to the problem of congestion. The congestion that had a negative impact was promised by Bobby, who was paired with Gerindra cadre Aulia Rachman, to be fixed.
“Medan is one of the busiest cities in Indonesia. This problem has had many negative impacts, from disrupting residents' activities to hampering the city's economy, ”said Bobby Nasution, Friday, October 30, 2020.
Quoted from the #KolaborMedanBerkah infographic, Bobby shows the 2017 Traffic Scorecard data (Inrix Research Institute), in which Medan City is the 6th most congested city in Indonesia.
Bobby Nasution-Aulia Rachman, candidate pair number 2 in the Medan Pilkada said that one way to overcome congestion in big cities is the implementation of the Transit Oriented Development system, which is to develop the use of mass transportation such as the busway / bus rapid transit (BRT).
The Traffic Free Field Program initiated by the son-in-law of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is carried out by optimizing traffic management with an intelligent transport system (ITS) in Medan City.
Then carry out the construction and revitalization of BRT mass transportation, construction of motorcycle taxi shelters, realizing 20 thousand CCTVs, digitizing parking and building Transit Oriented Development (TOD).
"We improve the city planning first so that all areas in the city of Medan are integrated and this will certainly unravel congestion," said Bobby Nasution.
