Central Bangka Police Deploy 130 Personnel To Guard 8 Points During The Easter Mass
JAKARTA - The Central Bangka Police, Bangka Belitung Islands Province deployed 130 personnel to secure Easter for Christians.
"We have deployed 130 joint military and police personnel to ensure that the implementation of worship for Christians runs smoothly," said the Head of Central Bangka Police, AKBP Slamet Ady Purnomo in Koba, as reported by Antara, Thursday, April 1.
He explained that as many as 130 personnel were deployed at eight points in six sub-districts to guard the Easter day procession at the church which was held on April 1 to 5, 2021.
"Security is also carried out to anticipate bomb terror that could threaten security stability," he said.
He said the police and the TNI had also conducted sterilization on the congregation who had participated in a series of Easter day activities in a number or eight churches in the area.
"We urge the public not to worry and feel anxious, because our joint team carries out tight security with more measurable steps in early anticipation of the threat of terror," he said.
He also said that the Central Bangka Police had received a direct order from the National Police to tighten security after the suicide bombing in Makassar.
"We received instructions and orders to be more vigilant and improve the security of the social security situation, together with the TNI, we do both open and closed security in places of worship," he said.
