2 Ministers Inaugurated As Members Of The DPR, Jokowi Signs Presidential Decree On The Dismissal Of Abdul Halim Iskandar And Ida Fauziyah

JAKARTA - Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Mendes PDTT) Abdul Halim Iskandar and Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah resigned. Both have submitted their resignation letters to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"Mr. President has received a letter of resignation from Mr. Abdul Halim Iskandar and Mrs. Ida Fauziyah in their respective positions as village ministers, development of underdeveloped areas and transmigration as well as the minister of employment," said Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana last Monday.

Ari explained that the two of them resigned because they would soon be appointed as members of the 2024 DPR. "The resignation of Mr. Abdul Halim Iskandar and Mrs. Ida Fauziyah regarding the determination of the two as members of the DPR to be elected in the 2024 General Elections by the General Election Commission," he said.

Responding to the resignation letter, Jokowi has also signed a presidential decree regarding the honorable dismissal of the two as ministers.

"The president approved the resignation and has signed the presidential decree with the honor of Mr. Abdul Halim Iskandar and Mrs. Ida Fauziyah along with thanks for their services and services as long as they hold positions in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. The Presidential Decree is in the process at the Ministry of State Secretariat," Ari explained.

In the Presidential Decree, Ari continued, Jokowi has also appointed Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy as acting (plt), the authority and responsibility of the village minister, underdeveloped regions and transmigration. Meanwhile, for plt, the authority, and responsibility of the minister of employment are filled by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto.

In addition to the two ministers, Jokowi has also issued Presidential Decree No. 62/M on September 27, 2024 regarding the honorable dismissal of Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) John Wempi Wetipo.

"The dismissal was accompanied by thanks for his services and dedication as long as he held the position. The issuance of the presidential decree related to the resignation of Mr. John Wempi Wetipo as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs because he was nominated as a candidate for regional head in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada)," concluded Ari.
