Accepting The Lawsuit Of PDIP Candidates, Bawaslu: Rahmad Handoyo Meets The Requirements For Being Inaugurated As A Member Of The Indonesian House Of Representatives
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) finally granted the lawsuit filed by the PDIP DPR RI candidate for the Central Java electoral district V, Rahmad Handoyo.
Bawaslu in its decision Number 006/LP/ADM.PL/BWSL/00.00/IX/2024 stated that Rahmad Handoyo met the requirements to be inaugurated as a elected member of the DPR RI for the period 2024-2029.
"Bawaslu decided that the reporter (Rahmad Handoyo) meets the requirements to be appointed as the elected candidate for the DPR RI. Bawaslu assessed that the Indonesian KPU Decree (SK) Number 1368 of 2024 concerning the change of elected candidates for members of the DPR RI was convincingly proven to have violated the procedure," said the chairman of the Supreme Audit Council Rahmad Bagja after plenary in the Indonesian Bawaslu trial room in Jakarta, Monday, September 30, evening.
The details of the Indonesian Bawaslu decision regarding Rahmad Handoyo's report, namely first, Bawaslu stated that the reported party (KPU RI) legally and convincingly committed acts that violated procedures and mechanisms for changing elected candidates for members of the DPR RI.
Second, order the reported party (KPU RI) to declare the reporter on behalf of Rahmad Handoyo to meet the requirements as a candidate for being elected as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives in the Central Java V Election Area from the PDI-P party.
Third, order the reported party (KPU RI) to cancel the Indonesian KPU Decree Number 1368 of 2024 concerning changes to the elected DPR RI members.
"Fourth, ordering the reported party (KPU RI) to issue a new Indonesian KPU Decree to determine the reporter on behalf of Rahmad Handoyo as a candidate elected member of the Central Java DPR RI V PDI-P Party," said Rahmad.
Previously, Rahmad Handoyo, through his attorney Taufik Hidayat, reported the Indonesian KPU to the Indonesian Bawaslu. Called the Indonesian KPU Decree No. 1368 administrative defects for replacing the elected candidate.
The replacement should not be carried out considering that Rahmad Handoyo's report at the South Jakarta District Court (PN) is still in process. There has been no final decision.
From the information obtained in Bawaslu, Rahmad also asked Bawaslu to provide recommendations or decisions to the Indonesian KPU to amend the Indonesian KPU Decree Number 1368 of 2024 concerning the determination of candidates for the elected members of the DPR RI in the 2024 general election.
For the record, in the KPU Decree number 1206, Rahmad Handoyo was declared the elected candidate and received the third seat for the Central Java V electoral district.

Recently, the Indonesian KPU issued a new decision with the number 1368 which declared Rahmad Handoyo's position as the elected candidate to be replaced by Didik Haryadi. The KPU reason, Rahmad Handoyo is no longer a member of the PDI-P Party.
Following the decision, Bawaslu asked the KPU to immediately issue a new decree to determine Rahmad Handoyo as the elected candidate for the Central Java V electoral district.
