North Sumatra Police Deploy 120 Night Patrol Personnel To Anticipate Motorcycle Gangs In Medan

MEDAN - The North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) deployed 120 night patrol personnel in anticipation of motorcycle gangs in Medan City.

"The personnel are a combination of the Brimob Unit, the Sabhara Directorate of the North Sumatra Police and the Medan Polrestabes," said Head of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 30.

Hadi said the increase in personnel in patrols tonight was to anticipate the actions of motorcycle gangs, robbers and other street crimes in that place.

The patrol activity combed a number of roads that were considered prone to crime in the area of the capital city of North Sumatra.

For example, Jalan Turi, Jalan Juanda, Jalan Air Bersih, Jalan Bahagia. Then comb Jalan Matahari Raya, Jalan Klambir 5, Jalan Dormitory, Jalan Ampera.

Then joint personnel also passed through the Jalan Karya area, Jalan Pos, Jalan Tengku Amir Hamzah, Jalan Adam Malik and a number of other roads.

"This patrol is carried out to maintain security and public order in this area, and suppress criminal acts on the road," said Hadi.

He emphasized that the North Sumatra Police did not take firm action against motorcycle gangs, robbers and other street crimes in their jurisdiction.

It is proven that dozens of motorcycle gangs have been arrested and legal proceedings have been carried out, until some have been added for fighting the officers.

Previously, the North Sumatra Regional Police's Samapta Directorate Precision Patrol Team arrested 12 members of a motorcycle gang in Medan City on Tuesday (7/9).

With the evidence confiscated, three sharp weapons, one bottle of adulterated liquor and four motorcycles.

According to Hadi, based on the results of the initial interrogation, the members of the underage motorcycle gang were groups from WLP, SL and Matador who were suspected of being involved in a brawl.
