3 Palestinian Militant Leaders Killed In Israeli Attack In Beirut

JAKARTA - The Palestinian militant group said its leader was killed in an Israeli attack on Beirut, the first attack within the city's borders as Israel escalated hostilities towards Iranian allies in the region.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said the three leaders were killed in an attack targeting Kola district in Beirut.

The attack took place on the top floor of an apartment building in Kola district in the Lebanese capital, a Reuters witness said on Monday, September 30.

There has been no direct statement from the Israeli military.

The increasing frequency of Israeli attacks on Hezbollah militias in Lebanon and the Houthi militias in Yemen has sparked fears the fighting in the Middle East could spiral out of control and involve Iran and the United States, Israel's main ally.

PFLP is another militant group that is taking part in the war against Israel.

Israel on Sunday, September 29, launched airstrikes against Houthi militias in Yemen and dozens of Hezbollah targets across Lebanon after previously killing the Hezbollah leader.

The Houthi-run Ministry of Health said four people were killed and 29 others injured in airstrikes at Hodeidah port in Yemen.

According to Israel, this attack was a response to the Houthi missile attack.

Meanwhile in Lebanon, authorities said 105 people died as a result of Israeli airstrikes on Sunday, September 29.

Lebanese Ministry of Health said more than 1,000 Lebanese were killed and another 6,000 injured in the past two weeks, without specifying how many civilians. The government says one million people a fifth of the population have fled their homes.
