Running Successfully, Jokowi: Indonesia's MotoGP Event In Mandalika Continues

LOMBOK - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the Indonesian MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) was confirmed to continue.

"Next year's MotoGP will continue," Jokowi told reporters after watching the final race for the Indonesian MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit, Antara, Sunday, September 29.

The President was accompanied by SOE Minister Erick Tohir, Menpora Dito Aritedjo Setiadi and several other state officials. Arriving at the Mandalika Circuit, Jokowi toured, then headed to the starting location to take part in the final ceremonial race for the 2024 Indonesian MotoGP event.

"This year's MotoGP went well," he said.

He said the preparation for the Indonesian MotoGP event was quite good, because many improvements had been made and various facilities had been completed.

"This event is mostly the involvement of local communities such as Marshal, who is a resident of NTB and others," he said.

He admitted that he really appreciated the sustainability of the Indonesian MotoGP, because it was very different from the MotoGP event in other countries. Especially before the race, various local cultural attractions were presented to the racers and spectators who were present in person at Mandalika.

"Dorna is happy because Indonesia always looks different, there is a dance. What is clear is that there are many improvements and we will correct what is lacking," he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) departed for West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, Sunday, during a working visit to witness the 2024 Pertamina GP Indonesia MotoGP event.

The information was conveyed by the Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana in a written statement received in Jakarta.

"President Jokowi is scheduled to witness the 2024 Pertamina Grand Prix (GP) MotoGP motorcycle racing world championship live," he said.

The Indonesian Presidential Aircraft-1 carrying the Head of State and his entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, at around 10:15 WIB.

Arriving at Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport, Central Lombok Regency, the Head of State and his entourage went straight to Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Mandalika Special Economic Zone, Central Lombok Regency.

After that, said Yusuf, President Jokowi and his entourage will return to Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport, Central Lombok Regency, to return to Jakarta.
