4 Meter Crocodile Enters Settlement In Natuna, Residents Are Asked To Be Alert When Activating
NATUNA - personnel from the Natuna Resort Police (Polres), Riau Islands caught a wild crocodile with a length of approximately four meters that entered residential areas in Serasan District.
Deputy Head of Natuna Police, Kompol Ahmad Rudi Prasetyo, appealed to local residents to always be vigilant when doing activities in the region. According to him, crocodiles are animals that have the potential to kill humans because they are included in wild animals.
"We urge residents and parents who have children to temporarily not carry out activities in the crocodile discovery area," he said when contacted by telephone from Natuna, Antara, Sunday, September 29.
Separately, the Serasan Police Chief, Ipda Mazlan, said the crocodile roamed under the lane where residents lived on Sunday morning. "The crocodile was caught this morning at around 05.30 WIB," he said.
The arrest process, he said, was also assisted by personnel from Kodim 0318 Natuna and the local community. "Alhamdulillah, there were no casualties and the arrest process went smoothly," he said.
He said the location where the crocodile was caught was close to the mangrove and the residential area was above the water. Therefore, he appealed to residents not to do activities under the house.
"Buaya juga kerap ditemukan warga di daerah jembatan tidak jauh dari Pantai Sisi," ucap dia. Ia menambahkan agak sudah diamankan ke Komando Rayon (Koramil) 06 Serasan.
