Gaet SUN Energy, Lami Pak Indonesia Implements Rooftop Solar Power Plants At Factories

JAKARTA - PT Lami Packaging Indonesia, an asseptic packaging manufacturer in Indonesia, collaborated with SUN Energy to implement a roof solar power plant (PLTS) at its factory with a capacity of 2.8 MWp and was able to supply 20 percent of the company's energy needs.

Managing Director of PT Lami Pak Indonesia Tina Cao in a statement received in Tangerang City, Banten, Saturday, said that since starting operations in June 2024, Lami Pak Indonesia has committed to the Standard Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) which is the main reference in the development of environmentally friendly factories.

This installation, continued Tina Cao, is not only part of a sustainable strategy, but also a manifestation of innovation and a real commitment to a greener future.

Roof PLTS installation is the company's effort to reduce operational carbon emissions through the use of clean and renewable energy.

The energy of other companies that have been successfully supplied by PLTS is asseptic packaging and stability of Lami Pak's energy costs.

"With the roofed PLTS installed, the system is estimated to generate up to 3.9 GWh of electrical energy per year. This amount is equivalent to reducing carbon emissions by 2,709,011 kg of CO2." he said quoting Antara.

By utilizing this technology, Lami Pak Indonesia has proven that operational efficiency and environmental sustainability can go hand in hand.

"Lampak Indonesia and SUN Energy hope that this step can be an inspiration for other industries who want to follow in their footsteps in transitioning energy to sustainable resources, for a greener future for Indonesia," he said.

SUN Energy Chief of Sales Oky Gunawan added that Lami Pak Indonesia is the portfolio for the installation of PLTS SUN Energy in the asseptic packaging industry.

In this PLTS project, SUN Energy provides assistance ranging from feasibility studies, planning, installations, to the three-month operation process, as well as licensing which takes two months.

Furthermore, Oky added that until the third quarter of 2024, the Lami Pak Indonesia installation marked the PLTS project which had been operating more than 150 MWp.

SUN Energy is also conducting Rooftop PLTS construction in other sectors with a total of approximately 60 MWp capacity.

"This is a big achievement that reflects our commitment to accelerating the energy transition in the industrial and commercial sectors in Indonesia," he said.
