Ahead Of Jokowi's Inauguration, Water Occupancy At The New NTT Temef Dam Is 22 Percent

PT Waskita Karya reports that currently the occupancy of inundated water at the Temef dam in South Central Timor Regency (TTS), NTT Province reaches around 22 percent of the total capacity of 44.9 million cubic meters (m3).

"Currently, it is in the process of filling the puddles and the progress is around 22 percent," said Project Manager of PT Waskita Karya's Temef Dam Yudho Agasi in Kupang, Antara, Friday, September 27.

This was conveyed in connection with the development of the Temef dam in TTS Regency, which is currently the dam construction process, which has reached 100 percent. The dam is planned to be inaugurated by President Joko Widodo, who on October 1, 2024, will make his working visit to a number of areas in NTT.

One of the areas planned for visit is the island of Timor to review the construction of a number of infrastructures ranging from water, as well as construction at the National Border Post (PLBN).

Yudho said that currently the filling of puddles is still being carried out so that it can accommodate water according to the capacity of the dam.

"Currently what is being done is only preparation for the inauguration of the dam in the form of reforestation work, garden arrangement, and other settlements," he said.

The Temef Dam is one of seven dams that are part of the government's program to maintain water availability in NTT during the prolonged dry season.

In addition, the Temef dam is the only largest dam in the island-based province, because it is 550 meters long and 55 meters high.

The dam occupies an area of 45 hectares to be able to accommodate water up to 44.9 million cubic meters of water.
