Members Of The Puncak Jaya Papua Police Are Still Being Hunted
JAYAPURA - Papuan Regional Police (Polda) are pursuing the perpetrators of the shooting of Puncak Jaya Police Brigadier Kiki Supriyadi while crossing the Pagargom River, Kalome District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua.
"In that incident, one of our members at the Ilu Police, Brigadier Kiki Supriyadi, died in his duties," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 26.
According to Ignatius, the attack occurred when four Ilu Police personnel returned from Mulia City at that time across the Pagargom River, Kalome District, Puncak Jaya Regency.
"The incident began when personnel rode on two motorbikes across the Pagargom river, suddenly three gunshots were heard from behind," he said.
At that time, the victim of Brigadier Kiki Supriyadi was at the back and was later shot by an unknown person (OTK) who caused him to fall.
However, when they wanted to help, the three personnel were chased by the perpetrators using motorbikes.
"After receiving information about the shooting, the Ilu Police returned to the crime scene to evacuate the body of Brigadier Kiki Supriyadi," he said.

Kapolres Puncak Jaya AKBP Kuswara mengatakan pihaknya kini terus melakukan penyelisir dan penyelidikan terkait kasus tersebut dan tindakan tegas akan diambil terhadap pelaku yang bertanggung jawab atas penyerangan tersebut.
"We will pursue the perpetrators or groups responsible for this action. They will be processed in accordance with the applicable law," he said.
