DKPP: The Number Of Complaints For Ethical Violations In 2024 Is Bigger Even Though It's Only 9 Months

Chairman of the Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) Heddy Lugito said the number of complaints related to ethical violations during the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) was higher. As of September, there have been 514 ethical case complaints.

"The number of cases of ethical violations in 2024 is greater. For just this year, it has not been a year, only nine months have reached 514 complaints of ethical cases that have been tried," said Heddy in his remarks during a Media Gathering event in Bogor, West Java, Thursday, September 26.

"This number should be a concern for all parties to enter the 2024 Pilkada," said Heddy. "So the election was successful, but there were also a lot of criticisms, corrections that we must correct together," he said.

One of the improvements made is regarding regulations. Heddy highlighted the frequent emergence of new rules in the middle of the election process.

"It will affect our democracy. Our elections have not been held according to the expectations of all parties, including the hopes of all leaders of this nation," he said.

"There are still a lot of criticisms in the implementation, it is our collective obligation in making improvements," continued Heddy.

Meanwhile, DKPP Secretary David Yama in his report said that 514 complaints entered as of September 25 at 20:15 WIB. "For the case from 325 to 145, and for 514 as many as 226 have been determined as cases, but there are still many remaining who are still waiting to become cases," he explained.

"Meanwhile, for 2023, there are 325 complaints. The data on complaints and cases on the election agenda from year to year shows a significant increase in the number. This reflects the higher public awareness of the importance of supervision in the election process," concluded David.
