Head Of RT Until Land Owners Are Examined By Lampung Police In The Aftermath Of A Warehouse Fire That Hoards Fuel

Lampung Police are currently examining six witnesses related to the fire investigation at an fuel oil warehouse (BBM) in Hajimena Village, Natar District, South Lampung (Lamsel).

"The building is suspected to be a place for hoarding fuel oil (BBM) and caught fire last Friday at around 15.30 WIB," said Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police, Kombes Umi Fadilah in a statement in Bandarlampung, Antara, Wednesday, September 25.

The investigation into this fire is still ongoing. The focus of the investigation is to find out the cause of the warehouse fire.

According to him, until now, we have examined six witnesses. The witnesses who have been examined include Rangga, the land owner; Suratman is the head of the local RT; and Rio, the person who first rented the land.

Then, Olan, the owner of the house in front of the scene; Suhaimi, the local village head; and Hendri, the firefighter.

Umi explained that the witness examination was carried out to clarify the chronology of the incident and ensure ownership of the warehouse.

He also said that investigators from the General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) of the Lampung Regional Police and the South Lampung Police would examine four additional witnesses on Thursday (26/9/2024).

The witness who is scheduled to be questioned is the owner of the vehicle that caught fire at the scene.

In addition, the Lampung Police are also still waiting for the arrival of the National Police Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) team to conduct a crime scene (TKP).

Previously, it was reported that a warehouse behind a housing estate in South Lampung Regency caught fire and exploded. The warehouse is allegedly used to hoard fuel.

The Head of the South Lampung Regency Fire Department, Rully Fikriansyah, confirmed the fire incident. "It's true, the fire occurred at around 16.00 WIB in Natar District," said Rully on Friday (20/9) afternoon.
