Hezbollah Rocket Targets Mossad Headquarters, Israel Plane Attacks South Lebanon Again

JAKARTA - The Israeli military again attacked southern Lebanon after Hezbollah fired a rocket targeting the Mossad spy agency headquarters near Tel Aviv.

The Israeli military said one surface-to-surface missile was intercepted by an air defense system after being detected crossing from Lebanon.

Warning sirens were heard in Tel Aviv, Israel's economic capital, but there were no reports of damage or casualties.

Israeli military spokesman Nadav Shoshani said he could not confirm what Hezbollah was targeting when they fired missiles from villages in Lebanon.

The result was a missile headed for Tel Aviv, towards a civilian area in Tel Aviv. Mossad headquarters are not in the region, Shoshani said.

Warning sirens were also sounded in other areas of central Israel, including the city of Netanya.

The Israeli military has launched its biggest airstrikes in a year of conflict this week, targeting Iran-backed Hezbollah leaders and attacking hundreds of locations deep within Lebanon.

The hostilities began after the outbreak of the war in October 2023 between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas in the Gaza Strip on Israel's southern border, and Hezbollah said they acted in solidarity with its Hamas allies.

Israel's focus has now shifted to the northern and southern Lebanese borders, which have been the site of the shootout for almost every day for months.

Unstopped, Israel said its warplanes are currently carrying out massive attacks in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.

Hezbollah has fired hundreds of missiles and rockets at Israel in recent days.
