Batam-Singapore Ferry Ticket Price Drops IDR 30 Thousand For All Classes, Valid Since Yesterday
The ticket price for the Batam-Singapore trip officially fell by Rp. 30 Thousand in an effort to increase the flow of foreign tourists (tourists) entering through Batam City.
Head of the Riau Islands Transportation Service, Junaidi, said the official reduction in ticket prices took place on Tuesday, September 24.
"For the price of the Batam-Singapore ferry ticket, it is around Rp. 760,000, it has officially dropped to Rp. 730,000," he said when contacted in Batam, Antara, Wednesday, September 25.
Junaidi explained further that there is no fixed ticket price and it will depend on the ticket class chosen by consumers, but a decrease in the price of Rp. 30,000 is uniformed.
"The ticket prices are different for each class, but everything will decrease by Rp. 30,000," he said.
The increase in tariffs for the Batam-Singapore route before the COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic reached 100 percent, from the one-way ticket price of Rp. 250,000- Rp. 350,000 to Rp. 500,000 to Rp. 550,000.
In addition to the Batam-Singapore route, Junaidi also highlighted the increase in the price of the Batam - Johor route which occurred an increase before the COVID-19 pandemic with the post-pandemic from the ticket one way price of Rp. 200,000 to Rp. 300,000.
Hal tersebut telah dirapatkan dan diharapkan untuk mendapatkan solusi, guna mendongkrak jumlah target wisatawan mancanegara di Batam.
"As a free trade area, Batam must take advantage of this momentum to increase tourist visits from Singapore and Johor. With this decrease in ticket prices, we hope that the flow of tourists will return to normal and the regional economy will increase," he said.
In addition to the lower ticket price, Junaidi also ensures the effectiveness of the ship's schedule that travels to make it more attractive to foreign tourists.
"When we had a meeting yesterday with the ferry operator, there was some input for the scheduling of ship departures to make it more effective for tourists," he added.
This is considered important to improve passenger services and facilitate transportation flow at the International Port of Batam.
