Persib Also Investigate Allegations Of Harassment And Beating Of Supporters

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung Management provides certainty to thoroughly investigate cases of alleged harassment and beating of supporters on September 19, 2024.

The incident allegedly triggered a commotion with the steward at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium after the match against Persija, Monday, September 23, 2024.

"Persib is also committed to thoroughly investigating cases of alleged verbal abuse against women by helping to report to the police so that they can be processed legally," said Persib's statement on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

"In addition, it is also thoroughly investigating allegations of intimidation or violence reported after Persib's match against Port FC on September 19, 2024," read the club's statement again.

Previously, it was known that chaos broke out after Persib Bandung hosted Persija Jakarta in the sixth week of Liga 1 2024/2025. At the end of the match, the hosts won 2-0, but hundreds of supporters in fact pushed into the field and pursued several stewards on guard.

After being investigated, it appears that the fans' anger towards the stewards who broke up in the match was triggered by allegations of harassment against women's Bobotoh and the beating of supporters by stewards in the previous match.

The supporters' violence left dozens of victims injured, including stewards and Bobotoh who tried to intervene.

The management of Persib then condemned acts of violence for any reason and the commitment to cooperate with the police to thoroughly investigate and process the laws of the perpetrators of violence.

"Persib refuses to be ridden by a handful of people who harm and embarrass Bobotoh, players, officials, management, and the organizing committee in the national and international football arena."

"Therefore, Persib invites all Bobotoh to unite against acts of violence for any reason. Persib was born out of the love and struggle of all parties, players, Bobotoh, management, officials, and the organizing committee," said Persib's official statement.
