Foreigners Become Prostitutes In Bali, Provincial Government Asks Immigration To Tighten Visa Investor Selection
DENPASAR - Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bali Province (Pemprov) Dewa Made Indra responded to the presence of Foreign Citizens (WNA) becoming Commercial Sex Workers (PSK) while on vacation in Bali.
When arrested by the Bali immigration team, the prostitute foreigner had an investor visa and violated immigration.
Dewa Indra Regional Secretary said that this case must be followed up by the competent authorities who issue visas/exports.
"This is an agency lesson that issues passports and visas," said Dewa Indra, Tuesday, September 24.
He also requested tightening the visas of investors given to foreigners entering the island of Bali.
"Yes (evaluated) friends, in immigration, there must be an evaluation. This means that with this event, it will be more selective, it must be checked first. We have submitted proposals in meetings on tourism with the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and the Minister of Tourism," he said.
"We always propose that the verification of research on passports and visas or visit visas is stricter to prevent this. Therefore, it is the first filter, so that if it is clear it is relatively easier to carry out," said Dewa.
