Using A Presidential Aircraft, Jokowi Will Land For The First Time At IKN Airport Tuesday Afternoon

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to land for the first time at Nusantara Capital Airport, East Kalimantan, on Tuesday, September 24, using a presidential plane from Pontianak, West Kalimantan.

"This afternoon, the President's plan is to land for the first time at IKN Airport," said Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana in a written message received in Jakarta, Tuesday morning.

Yusuf said President Jokowi used the Presidential Aircraft RJ85 from Pontianak to IKN Airport.

The President is scheduled to go to IKN after inaugurating the Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) owned by PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia in Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan Province on Tuesday morning.

On the previous occasion, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said the airport in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) of East Kalimantan would be tested with a landing test of the RJ-85 aircraft before being used by President Joko Widodo.

According to Basuki, after the flight landing test by RJ-85 was completed, President Jokowi was able to carry out visits outside the city from IKN airport using the Indonesian presidential plane-1.

Meanwhile, President Jokowi returned to his office in IKN until October 19, 2024, or one day before the inauguration of the President and Elected Vice President Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

During the office period in IKN, the President will also continue to tour work visits to a number of regions in Indonesia.
