Suspected Terrorist Breaks Into National Police Headquarters, DPR Members Ask The Public Not To Panic
JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives, Taufik Basari, asked the public to remain calm regarding the suspected terrorist action at the National Police Headquarters.
"We must not panic and be afraid because that is what the terrorists want," said Taufik Basari, Wednesday, March 31.
However, Tobas, Taufik Basari's nickname, asked the Police to immediately take steps to secure the situation. One of them is by increasing vigilance following the terrorist acts after the Makassar bombing.
"The National Police must take immediate response steps to convince the public that the National Police can be relied on. And the public will get protection," he said.
In order to keep the atmosphere conducive, the Nasdem politician suggested that all parties wait for official statements related to terror at the police headquarters. Including the matter of the perpetrator's motive for doing this.
"We are waiting for the results of the investigation from the National Police Headquarters regarding who and what the motives of the perpetrators are," he said.
Previously, the suspected terrorist entered the National Police Headquarters at around 16.30 WIB. From the video circulating, he had pointed a firearm at the police who were in a room near the fence at the National Police Headquarters.
After that the suspected terrorist was paralyzed by the police to death. Meanwhile, eyewitnesses said they heard gunshots repeatedly when the suspected terrorist entered the National Police Headquarters.
Currently, the security of the National Police Headquarters is being tightened. The bodies of the suspected terrorists have been taken to the National Police Hospital. There has been no information from the National Police regarding the incident at the Police Headquarters.
