Anticipating Terror, East Java Regional Police Tighten Security At Police Headquarters

SURABAYA - The East Java Regional Police have tightened guard at every entrance post for the command headquarters (mako) in East Java. This step is to anticipate terror attacks after the incident of suspected terrorists breaking into the National Police Headquarters.

"The East Java Regional Police and its staff will certainly increase vigilance and security of the mako (command headquarters), including additional personnel at the guard post," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, Wednesday, March 31.

Apart from the East Java Regional Police Headquarters, continued Gatot, security at every guard post was carried out throughout the ranks of the East Java Regional Police. Gatot admitted that his working area does not want to be spared from terror attacks.

"Of course every mako of the East Java Regional Police will be tightened and improved," he said.

Gatot did not mention the number of personnel deployed for tightening security. He only made sure that each guard was in accordance with the security procedures and protocols (PROP). "What is clear is that there is an additional guardianship, and according to the headquarters security procedure," said Gatot.

The suspected terrorist entered the National Police Headquarters at around 16.30 WIB. From the video circulating, he had pointed a firearm at the police who were in a room near the fence at the National Police Headquarters.

After that the suspected terrorist was paralyzed by the police to death. Meanwhile, eyewitnesses said they heard gunshots repeatedly when the suspected terrorist entered the National Police Headquarters.
