Police Name 10 Suspects In The Karaoke Berkedok Kasino Case In Semarang, Rp1.3 Billion In Cash Confiscated

The police have named 10 suspects in the disclosure of gambling houses or casinos located on Jalan Puri Anjasmoro Raya, Semarang City, Central Java.

"Of the 12 people who were arrested during the raid, 10 were named suspects," said Semarang City Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 23.

He explained that the suspects, among others, acted as financiers, supervisors, careers, admins, CCTV supervisors, and security officers.

In the disclosure of the gambling house located on the 3rd floor of the Babyface karaoke place, the police secured various pieces of evidence, including IDR 1.3 billion in cash.

According to Irwan, the Rp1.3 billion is the capital for the operation of the baccarat type gambling house for a week.

The police chief said the gambling house had opened on August 29, 2024 and was asked to close a few days later.

The manager of the gambling house then reopened his business on September 16, 2024, until the police raided him on September 20, 2024.

In addition, the guests who came to the gambling house who operated from 12.00 to 03.00 WIB also came from outside the city of Semarang.

For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 303 of the Criminal Code concerning gambling.
