Sufficient Needs In Batam, Pertamina Add 3 Kg LPG Supply

To meet the fuel needs of the people in Batam City, Riau Islands, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Riau Islands (Kepri) will increase the stock of 3 kg subsidized LPG.

Area Manager Communication, Relations, & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut Susanto August Satria in Batam, Riau Islands, Saturday, said that his party had added 70 thousand tubes to be distributed to all bases in Batam City.

"In total, 70 thousand tubes are distributed until September 23, 2024. For the Batam City daily it requires 47 thousand tubes per day. With the addition of 70 thousand tubes, from 16-23 September 2024, it means sufficient," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, September 21.

He explained that related to the scarcity of LPG that occurred some time ago in Batam City, this was due to an increase in demand for 3 kg LPG that occurred in a number of sub-districts in Batam City.

In addition, Pertamina also found a business sector that should not use 3 kg LPG, but uses subsidized fuel.

"Is the stock safe or not? Stock is safe, there are no obstacles in Tanjunguban and its distribution. The weather does have an effect because it has been raining frequently lately, but not too significantly. The main problem is demand. There is a business sector that shouldn't use 3 kg of gas, but uses it," he said.

As for the results of the review and monitoring carried out by Pertamina together with the Batam City Industry and Trade Office in the field, seven laundry business actors were found using 3 kg LPG.

"Of the eight laundry that was visited, seven of them used 3 kg of gas. Then we credit their gas with 12 kg, and one laundry already uses 12 kg of LPG gas," he said.

That way, Satria ensures that the additional supply of 70 thousand 3 kg LPG cylinders will be sufficient, so that people are advised not to worry and make excessive purchases of subsidized gas
