Regarding Pager Explosives And Other Communication Devices In Lebanon, This Is What The United Nations Says

JAKARTA - The explosion of pagers and a number of other communication tools simultaneously and at the same time in Lebanon is the first time this has happened in the world.

He emphasized that targeting thousands of individuals together, both civilians and members of armed groups without knowing who has the targets, is a violation of international human rights and international humanitarian law.

He conveyed this affirmation at the UN Security Council session.

Turk reminded that international humanitarian law prohibits the use of trap tools in the form of harmless portable objects designed and specially assembled to accommodate explosives.

"To commit violence intended to spread terror among civilians is a war crime," he added, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 21.
