YouTube Changes Status Bar View On Android Devices

JAKARTA YouTube app launched a transparent status bar for Android devices. This status bar will be visible as users scroll down to explore video recommendations on the Home page.

Previously, the status bar that displays time, battery, connection, and others at the top of the screen had a solid background. The color can be black or white, depending on the theme used on the phone or YouTube application.

In the latest update, YouTube users on Android will still see thumbnails or video previews in the status bar due to their more transparent display. However, when the screen is rolled back up, the status bar doesn't look transparent anymore.

This status bar update is added to YouTube version 19.37.35 for Android 14 and 15. If your YouTube app on your phone or tablet is already using this version, you will immediately see changes when opening the app.

Keep in mind that this feature is still rolling out in stages so it is not yet available on all devices. If in the next few weeks this update is not yet available, you need to check if the version of the YouTube application used is correct.

Before updating the display of the status bar on Android devices, YouTube also rolled out an update on the app for television. Thanks to this update, the Suka and Not Like sign is placed in one button.

If you want to press one of the buttons, YouTube users on television must issue more effort because they need to click on the combined Suka and Dislike button first, then select the desired option.
