BPS: The 2024 Hajj Congregation Satisfaction Index Is Very Satisfactory To Reach 88.20

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the satisfaction index of Indonesian pilgrims in 2024 is very satisfying, reaching 88.20.

"The satisfaction index for the 88.20 Hajj pilgrims, in general, if the above 85 are categorized as very satisfying. Hajj officers are most appreciated, the ability of the head of the flying group (cluter) is also highlighted by many Hajj pilgrims, they appreciate it because we can get alert Hajj officers," said BPS Director of Statistics Information System Joko Parmiyanto as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 20.

Joko conveyed this in a public dialogue and the release of the BPS survey regarding the satisfaction of the 2024 Hajj pilgrims which was held with the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).

Joko explained that the survey was conducted by filling out the questionnaire independently or self-enumeration.

In addition, interviews and observations were also conducted to collect qualitative data to enrich information and observe facilities and service processes received by the congregation.

"The sample allocation was carried out at 14,400 hajjes at seven observation points, namely Madinah Airport arrival, Jeddah Airport arrival, Medina wave one, Makkah Pra-Armuzna, Armuzna, Makkah Post-Armuzna and Medina wave two," he said.

Joko said that the five-year Hajj pilgrims' satisfaction index from 2019 to 2024 generally increased, but had decreased in 2023.

"In 2019 the satisfaction index was at 85.91, then in 2020 to 2022 it was abolished due to COVID-19, and in 2022 the satisfaction index was at 90.45. In 2023 it had decreased to 85.83, and in 2024 it increased again to 88.20," he explained.

He conveyed that the existence of hajj officers who provided information was among the most appreciated by the congregation.

The way the Hajj pilgrims are regulated is also appreciated, the access and speed of the Hajj officers in responding to the congregation also get the most awards from the congregation. In addition, the innovation of Hajj guards is also an appreciation from the congregation," he said.

He also mentioned that all types of Hajj services have achieved very satisfactory criteria, except for tent services and Armuzna consumption which still require a lot of improvement.

The Ministry of Religion's Director General (Dirjen) of Hajj and Umrah (PHU) Hilman Latief said that although there were still some shortcomings in organizing the 2024 Hajj, he appreciated the results of the BPS survey which stated that the implementation of Hajj in 2024 was generally satisfactory.

"Alhamdulillah, our efforts to make improvements in 2024 have also yielded good results according to BPS results, and we also feel that way. Indeed, there are still some important notes, such as accommodation that need to get significant improvements in the future, especially at the peak of Hajj, that will be our concern," said Hilman.

In addition, he conveyed that the tents for pilgrims will also continue to be repaired for the implementation of the pilgrimage in the future so that they can accommodate all pilgrims.
