Polda Metro Arrests Students Who Hack Google Business Polsek To Bank

Polda Metro Jaya arrested a student with the initials KTD (22) for hacking Google Business belonging to agencies and banks. Several accounts that were hacked by the suspect belonged to the Setiabudi Police and Pasar Minggu.

"Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya has made efforts to force the arrest of the suspect on behalf of KTD," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak to reporters, Friday, September 20.

Named, there were 13 Google Business accounts that were hacked by the suspect. Starting from Setiabudi Police; Pasar Minggu Police; FIF Astra Call Center; Call Center Borrowing Money; Call Center Traveloka; and Call Center Mega Auto Finance.

Then, Call Center Agoda; Call Center LinkAja; Call Center Mandiri; Call Center BRI; Call Center Citibank; Call Center BNI, and Call Center Bank Permata.

"Meanwhile, other victims are still being investigated or identified by the investigative team," he said

The hacking carried out by the suspect was by changing the data or information. For example, changing the address of the Setiabudi Police in South Jakarta to another area.

The hacking was carried out using a 'bug' condition or a defect, error, or function failure that caused an application not to run as needed, around 11 or 12 August 2024.

"The suspect edited or changed data such as business name, address, codepost, cellphone number, whatsapp, email and website address," he said.

In carrying out the action, the KTD suspect is said to have not worked alone. However, the party who helped him is still being investigated.

"The suspect in carrying out the action is not alone, but has a specialist gang to change the google information business," said Ade.

The suspect was charged with Article 46 paragraph (1) and or paragraph (2) and or paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 30 paragraph (1) and or paragraph (2) and or paragraph (3) and or Article 48 paragraph (1) and or paragraph (2) and or paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 32 paragraph (1) and or paragraph (2) and or paragraph (3) and or Article 51 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Law Number 11 of 2008 as amended last by Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the second amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions.
