Ahead Of Retirement, Jokowi Blusukan Friday Morning To Dukuh Market Surabaya Checks Basic Food Prices

SURABAYA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) blusukan to Dukuh Kupang Market, Surabaya, East Java, to monitor the prices of basic necessities and see everything is good.

"Yes, just stop by to see the prices. I saw everything was good," said Jokowi, after blusukan, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 20.

According to him, the prices of several basic necessities have decreased and tend to be low due to abundant supply.

"Eggs prices were too low, the price was 24 thousand, 35 thousand cayenne peppers were already (low), maybe the supply was too much," he also said.

When asked whether his visit was also part of the goodbye before completing his tenure, Jokowi replied jokingly that his visit was to check the prices of basic commodities.

"Yes, checking the price, the group continues to say goodbye," said Jokowi, who was also present in Surabaya a few weeks ago.

President Jokowi was present at the Dukuh Kupang Market, Surabaya, accompanied by First Lady Iriana Jokowi and Minister of State Secretary Pratikno.

Jokowi's entourage arrived at the location at around 07.50 WIB, Jokowi was seen wearing a long-sleeved white shirt in a black pants suit.

Arriving at the location, Jokowi immediately entered the market greeting the residents directly. His arrival was also greeted by residents asking for a photo with Jokowi.

In addition, Jokowi was also seen distributing t-shirts and gifts to residents in the market.

President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) term of office will expire for approximately one month, precisely on October 20, 2024.

Jokowi stated that on October 20, after the inauguration of Prabowo and the elected vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka, he would return to Solo.

This was revealed when Jokowi was asked about the opinion of the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi who said that Jokowi was suitable to be the council of consideration of the president or (Wantimpres).

"Pulang ke solo tanggal 20 (october) nanti pulang ke Solo," jawab Jokowi beberapa pekan lalu.
