PGN's QUEST Application Claims To Improve Productivity For Natural Gas Infrastructure Technical Data Processing Up To 40 Percent

PT PGN Tbk claims the Quick Engineering Standards and Tools or QUEST application is able to increase the productivity of processing natural gas infrastructure technical data by up to 40 percent.

For information, QUEST is an integrated application to increase data processing speed that increases productivity in infrastructure engineering planning, logistics scheme calculations, and cost estimation for natural gas infrastructure work, both pipelined and Beyond pipeline.

QUEST applications are developed as an integrated means that include accurate, fast, but standardized technical calculations. So far, the database system related to engineering calculations is still a challenge, both in terms of classification, shape, data access, and standardization. Therefore, the QUEST application is a solution as well as an efficient tool by utilizing digital technology," said PGN's Director of Infrastructure and Technology, Harry Budi Sidharta, Thursday, September 19.

He explained, QUEST consists of three modules, namely Readyp Gas In, Unit Price, and Gas Think.

The components in the application include a list of materials, tools, labor, technical calculations/calculations, and the selection of modes of transportation in a work which will then be analyzed by the sotfware system.

The results of the software analysis produce more comprehensive, measurable and applicable data in carrying out a natural gas engineering work.

Before there was a QUEST application, technical calculations were quite time-consuming. Once there was a QUEST, calculations could be faster so that they could increase effectiveness and productivity by up to 40 percent in planning and engineering work," said Harry.

The first module is Ready-In. The PGN program to serve various types of customers as well as millions of household and retail customers requires fast calculation of transportation costs and logistics schemes.

Especially for new customers who need different modes of gas transportation.

Ready-In gas can carry out quick calculations for gas transportation modes in PGN Group both through pipelines and beyond pipelines, in this case CNG and LNG.

With this module, workers simply enter data on the needs and location of prospective customers to get data on instant transport costs.

In the Unit Price module, PGN can obtain information on the price of network materials and construction units quickly and easily and equally important, the information is standardized and confirmed.

This information is needed to compile work calculations for both pipelines and beyond pipelines, as well as to make a budget plan for work with a minimum error rate and neatly documented.

Then, in the third module, namely Gas Think, PGN is making it easier to carry out calculations that include unit conversion and fuel, as well as the design of each discipline such as pipe diameter, pipe thickness, gas carrier size, MRS size, and size of other main equipment.

The calculation is important as input in producing optimal and standardized design results without denying the safety side, so it is hoped that the Gas Think module can accelerate the design process at PGN Group.

"In the future, the PGN market will be wider and more complex, so it is necessary to increase the speed of service and digitization for fast and reliable information," he said.

Harry hopes that the QUEST application will continue to grow along with technology, markets, and customer behavior, as well as increasing customer satisfaction.

The application is a business adaptation and accountability to natural gas regulations, and continues to grow and its coverage is expanded in terms of databases and calculation modules.

"We are ready and continue to be responsive to customer needs and are committed to facilitating work, especially in terms of data processing and digital information needed by both workers, companies, and the public as customers," said Harry.
