Bulog Which Guarantees The Ability To Cope With The Surge In Food Needs
JAKARTA - The government through Perum Bulog ensures that it is able to overcome the need for an unexpected food spike. The entire Bulog ranks have been aware of this spike both in the lead-up to Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr as well as other unexpected conditions, so that people do not have to worry about food needs.
President Director of Perum Bulog, Budi Waseso, after holding the Board of Directors Meeting of Perum Bulog in Jakarta, Monday, March 30, said that his party had issued instructions to all ranks to prepare rice stocks and other food needs. Where it is, said Buwas, it is the responsibility of Bulog to always serve the community.
“People don't need to worry. Bulog guarantees that the need for rice and other food is available in the community even though there is a sudden spike in demand. Bulog will use all available instruments to ensure the availability of the food, "said Buwas in a statement received by VOI.
Bulog itself ensures that all networks that work with Perum Bulog have provided rice needs at the local level both online and offline, as well as outlets owned by Perum Bulog such as RPK (Rumah Pangan Kita) which are spread throughout Indonesia, as well as existing modern retail networks.
In order to maintain social distancing and physical distancing, Bulog itself already has an online sales system, namely ip Handling.com which will make it easier to purchase food needed by the community.
"Food purchased through ip Handling.com will be delivered directly to the buyer's house so that it will make it easier and ensure that the distribution of food commodities is immediately accepted by the community without the need to queue to the market," added Budi.
Especially for the main food commodity, namely rice, Bulog has stocks stored in Bulog warehouses throughout Indonesia with a total stock of 1.4 million tons of the total available warehouse capacity of 3.8 million tons.
The availability of rice stocks will continue to increase considering that it will enter the main harvest season so that the rice supply is truly safe for the needs of the community in any situation.
