JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo ordered the handling of data leaks for taxpayers (NPWP).
"I have ordered the Ministry of Communication and Informatics and the Ministry of Finance to mitigate as soon as possible, including the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) to mitigate as soon as possible," he said on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Solo-Yogyakarta Toll Road at the Banyudono Boyolali Toll Gate, Central Java, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, September 19.
Jokowi said the incident did not only occur in Indonesia but also in several other countries.
"All data may be due to negligence of passwords that can occur or because of too much data storage in different places," he said.
The President said it could be a space for hackers to hack into.
Previously, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance stated that he was investigating a case of alleged NPWP data leakage.
"Regarding information on data leaks circulating, the DGT technical team is currently conducting an in-depth investigation," said Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations of the Ministry of Finance Dwi Astuti.
