Special Detachment 88 Arrests Suspected JAD Network Terrorists In Nganjuk
SURABAYA - Densus 88 Anti-terror has arrested suspected terrorists in the East Java region. The arrests of two suspected terrorists were carried out in Tulungagung and Nganjuk.
"The two suspected terrorists are the radical Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, in Surabaya, Wednesday, March 31.
The two suspected terrorists with the initials NMR were arrested in Buntaran Village, Rejotangan District, Tulungagung Regency, on Tuesday, March 30. On the same day, the Densus Team also secured a suspected terrorist with the initials LAM in Nganjuk Regency.
In addition to capturing the two suspected terrorists, continued Gatot, the Densus 88 Team also found a number of evidence. In Tulungagung, two homemade firearms were found. "In Nganjuk, evidence was found of a book entitled 'Fiqh Jihad'," he said.
East Java Regional Police asked residents to remain calm. Meanwhile, elements of society can play an active role in providing information if they find anything suspicious.
"Our appeal is specifically for the people of East Java, to carry out activities to remain normal and calm and to maintain Kamtibmas together," he said.
