JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia or InJourney Airports is collaborating with The Boeing Company to discuss various initiatives to increase airport capabilities in safety, operational efficiency and services to airplane passengers.

This collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by the President Director of InJourney Airports Faik Fahmi and Managing Director of Boeing Indonesia Zaid Alami, on the sidelines of the Bali International Airshow which was held at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali on Wednesday, September 18.

InJourney Airports President Director Faik Fahmi said InJourney Airports and Boeing are two companies that have their respective competitive advantages. Through this MoU, the two companies will work together to improve the capabilities of airports in Indonesia.

The partnership with Boeing is part of InJourney Airports' efforts to always be a world-class airport operator that connects travelers with typical Indonesian hospitality, through airport infrastructure (premises), airport operations based on ecosystems (processes) and human resource competencies according to global standards (people)," he said in an official statement, Thursday, September 19.

Furthermore, Faik said that this MoU will further strengthen the understanding of InJourney Airports and Boeing regarding the importance of the airside at the airport.

Infrastructure and airside readiness at the airport are very important for InJourney Airports and Boeing, where to ensure this requires close collaboration. We are looking forward to being able to work with Boeing," said Faik.

Faik said that through this signed MoU, InJourney Airports and Boeing will discuss the operational plans of the aircraft while at the airport, especially wide-body Boeing 777 and Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

The discussions included, among others, runway assessments, plane maneuvers while on land and planning studies at the departure gate and arrival of airplane passengers at the airport.

"Currently, InJourney Airports that serve Boeing 777 flights include Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Tangerang), Kualanamu Airport (Deli Serdang), Juanda Airport (Surabaya) and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport (Bali)," he said.

Faik explained that wide-body aircraft can accommodate more passengers on one flight, so that flight time slots (take off and landing time availability) at airports can be more optimal.
