KPU Officially Opens Registration For KPPS Members For The 2024 Pilkada, Need 3 Million Members
The General Elections Commission (KPU) officially opened registration for members of the polling group (KPPS) for the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada).
This opening was symbolically inaugurated by KPU Chairman Mochammad Afifuddin by launching the formation of KPPS at the KPU Jakarta Province.
"Alhamdulillah, this afternoon we just carried out a symbolic launch or launch of the formation of KPPS," Afif said at the Jakarta Provincial KPU office, Salemba Raya, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 18.
Later, the registrants who are elected as members of the KPPS will serve in all polling stations (TPS) in Indonesia. They will carry out their duties, authorities, and obligations as members of the 2024 Pilkada KPPS in accordance with KPU Regulation Number 8 of 2022.
It is planned that in the 2024 Pilkada there will be as many as 435,089 polling stations that will serve voters in each region. So far there have been 203,290,554 voters registered on the temporary voter list (DPS).
"The formation of this KPPS, our TPS needs around 3,045,623 KPPS members," added Afif.

Meanwhile, registration of KPPS members has been open from September 17 to September 21, 2024. Prospective members who have successfully passed the selection stage will be announced from October 5 to 7, 2024.
"Furthermore, the KPPS working period for the 2024 Pilkada is November 7, 2024 when it will be sworn in until December 8, 2024," Afif concluded.
