Has Long Been Linked With Real Madrid, Now Salah Praises Zinedine Zidane

JAKARTA - Mohamed Salah does not want to close the opportunity to move to Spain by saying that he wants to play in La Liga in the future.

The Liverpool forward has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid and has previously hinted at a possible move to Spain in an interview with the US in December 2020.

The Reds' poor performance in domestic competitions in the 2020-21 season has further strengthened rumors of Salah's departure from Anfield.

The player returned to comment on his future to the Spanish press and said it was possible to try football there.

"It's not up to me (whether I stay)," Salah told Marca on Tuesday ahead of his team's Champions League match against Real Madrid.

"We'll see what happens, but I choose not to talk about it now".

"(My relationship with Klopp) is a normal relationship between two professionals. That's how I would describe it".

Asked if he would like to try Spanish football, after playing in England and Italy, the Egypt international added: "I hope to play for many more years".

"Why? Nobody knows what will happen in the future, so ... maybe one day (I will play in Spain)".

Salah then praised Zidane, who he thought was a great coach after giving Real Madrid several trophies.

"He is a great coach. He won three Champions Leagues. He did a very good job with the team. He left and he came back to help the team win trophies again. He was one of my idols when I was little. He was great as a coach".
