Viral Bare-Chested Residents Push And Challenge Fighting Firefighters In Sangatta Kutim

KUTAI TIMUR - Video of firefighters in North Sangatta, East Kutai, East Kalimantan fighting with residents has gone viral on social media. In fact, this officer is on duty to deal with fires in residential areas.

"The incident this afternoon at 3 pm (WITA), they were obstructed by the residents, as in the video," said East Kutai Damkar officer, Edi, confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, March 30.

The officers were moving to reach the fire location of 9 houses in Sangattta. But somehow the residents got so emotional that they ended up committing violence against firefighters.

"It has been handled by our Head of Damkar," continued Edi.

The fire called Edi occurred in Gang Kutai Indah RT 40, Sangatta Utara Village, Sangatta District, Kutim. Suddenly, a shirtless man pushed the firefighter and asked him to fight.

After being given an explanation, they finally reconciled. Residents must fully understand the rules regarding firefighters.

Not only fighting, usually the firefighting officers are prevented by the speed of their cars.

As happened in Bali. After it went viral, the perpetrator in a Mercedes Benz (Mercy) car, beg for mercy, apologized. Just like Kutim, the incident in Bali has also gone viral on social media.

"We have clarified and we have educated the person concerned, and we have had a meeting with the firefighters," said Dirlantas Polda Bali Kombes Indra, when confirmed, Monday, March 29.

From his confession, the Mercy driver did not intend to obstruct the fire engine. When the incident happened, the driver panicked and was confused about pulling the car over.

"We provide education to those concerned. There is no intention of those concerned to obstruct. The concerned panic, after crossing the intersection, those concerned pull over to the right on a one-way road," said Kombes Indra.

He reminded the public and Balinese to give priority to fire engines when carrying out tasks marked by sirens. "This is as stipulated in Article 134 of Law No. 22/2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation as well as for ambulances on duty to carry sick people and also certain other vehicles," he said.
