34 Drug Traffickers In Cirebon Arrested, Threatened 15 Years In Prison
JAKARTA - The Cirebon City Police (Polresta), West Java, arrested 34 suspected drug traffickers, both types of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana and pharmaceutical preparations without permission.
"The suspects we have arrested are 34 out of 27 cases," said Cirebon Police Chief Kombes M. Syahduddi in Cirebon, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 30.
Syahduddi said that within three months, from January to March 2021, he succeeded in uncovering at least 27 cases of drugs and illegal drugs in the jurisdiction of the Cirebon Police.
According to him, for the disclosure of the methamphetamine case, there were four sub-districts, namely Lemahabang one case, Weru one case, Talun two cases and Plumbon one case. From the disclosure there were eight suspects.
Meanwhile the marijuana network was revealed in Susukan and Jamblang sub-districts with two people who have been named as suspects.
"There are 24 people in the distribution of pharmaceutical preparations without permission, and almost evenly in all districts," he said.
He added that the confiscated evidences were 14,693 items of pharmaceutical preparations without permission consisting of Dextro 843 items, Trihex 6,303 items and Tramadol 7,547 items. Meanwhile, for shabu-shabu as much as 2.67 grams and 59.79 grams of marijuana.
As a result of his actions, drug traffickers of the types of marijuana and shabu-shabu were charged under Article 112 in conjunction with Article 127 of Law 35/2009 concerning narcotics with the threat of a maximum sentence of 20 years and a minimum of 5 years.
"Meanwhile, suspects who sell pharmaceutical preparations are charged under Article 196 in conjunction with Article 197 of Law 36/2009 on health with a penalty of 15 years," he said.
