West Java Police Officer: Police Officer T Hambut Investigation Of Mother-Child Murder Case In Subang
JAKARTA - The West Java Regional Police (Polda) revealed that the suspect with the initials T was suspected of obstructing the investigation or obstruction of justice in the case of the murder of a mother and child in Subang Regency.
The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Jules Abraham Abast, said that on August 19, 2021, the suspect ordered two witnesses to wash the bath at the house where the murder of Tuti Suhartini and Amelia Mustika Ratu on Jalan Ciseuti RT 18 RW 003 Jalancagak Village, Jalancagak District, Subang Regency.
"However, with the depletion of the bath tub, of course this changes at the crime scene and causes difficulties from the Inafis team to conduct crime scene investigations," Jules said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 11.
He explained that suspect T, who is the Head of Resmob Subang Police in 2021, intends to find a murder suspect, but this actually prevented police investigators from uncovering the case.
"This suspect is tasked with finding the perpetrator at the time of the murder of the suspect. We will carry out a process that we will impose a status to obstruct or obstruct the process," he said.
Furthermore, Jules emphasized that it is committed to thoroughly investigating this case in a transparent and professional manner, including investigating the relationship between suspect T and several other perpetrators.
"But it is possible that there is a connection with other suspects to cover up and obstruct the investigation process," he said.
He added that his party would submit the suspect's file to the prosecutor's office for prosecution to be prosecuted at the court hearing.
For his actions, suspect T was charged with Article 221 of the Criminal Code regarding the obstruction of the investigation with a penalty of nine months in prison.
"Currently, the suspect (T) since the incident has been transferred and is no longer a member of the Subang Police Criminal Investigation Unit but a member outside the investigation process, aka being a Babinkamtibmas," he said.
Previously, the police had named five suspects in this case, namely Yosep Hidayah, Muhammad Ramdanau, Mimin Mintarsih, Arighi Reksa Pratama, and Abi Aulia. The court has sentenced Yosep and Danu to prison terms, while the other three suspects are currently still in progress.
"For other suspects, whether it's the wife of the suspect who has been sentenced or other families, this is still in the process of being investigated. The investigation and handling process takes time and requires coordination with the prosecutor's office so that we can conclude as soon as possible," he said.
