Info On Train Departure Cancellation From April 1 To May 1, 2020
JAKARTA - The continued increase in the spread of the corona virus or COVID-19 in the country has made PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) to take another policy to cancel train travel (KA). This cancellation is an effort to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19.
Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Eva Chairunisa said this decision was in line with government directives, where people were asked to reduce their mobility outside the home. Eva said, specifically in Daop 1 Jakarta, there are 28 trains that will experience trip cancellations in the second phase, starting April 1 to May 1, long-distance train departures from Gambir Station, Pasar Senen and Jakarta Kota.
Daop 1 Jakarta, continued Eva, ensured that the distance between passengers on the train would still be implemented through arrangements by officers. Currently, the volume of passengers is also not as crowded as in normal times and has even decreased considerably. "For departure stations in the Daop 1 Jakarta area, on average there is a decrease in volume of up to 70 percent," said Eva, in Jakarta, Sunday, March 29.
Eva said, prospective passengers who were affected by the cancellation of the train during that period could apply for a full 100 percent refund of ticket duties, excluding the order fee. In fact, this time PT KAI did not divert passengers whose schedules were canceled to other train trips. However, passengers can purchase tickets with other train schedules independently.
"Before the cancellation schedule takes effect, of course all prospective passengers who have bought tickets on the canceled train schedule, have been given prior information through customer information services," he explained.
PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta also appealed to prospective passengers to cancel tickets online in the latest version of the KAI Access application. In addition, the cancellation process can also be carried out at the designated cancellation station counters, namely Gambir Station, Pasarsenen, Jakarta Kota, Cikampek, Bekasi, Rangkasbitung, Serang, and Bogor Paledang.
"The policy of reducing the travel schedule will continue to be evaluated in accordance with developments and situations in the field, along with efforts to prevent the spread of the corona virus which are being carried out by PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta," he said.
