Herd Of Elephants Rampage In Nagan Raya Aceh, Garden Products Shredded, Houses Damaged

ACEH - Several garden products and agricultural products from the community in Blang Lango Village, Seunagan Timur District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, were badly damaged by a herd of wild elephants.

A herd of elephants also damaged a housing unit belonging to Masyudi (35), a local villager, which was badly damaged.

"The disturbance of elephants in our village has happened very often, it has really scared the people", said the Head of Blang Lango Village, East Seunagan District, Nagan Raya, Aceh, Oediyantri, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 30.

Not only that, several garden and secondary crops belonging to the people living in the transmigration area were also damaged, after being crushed by a herd of elephants.

In February, said Oediyantri, a herd of elephants also terrorized the community and caused community garden land in this hinterland to be badly damaged.
