Asked About Cabinet Reshuffle, Jokowi Smiles
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) only smiled when asked about the opportunity to reshuffle the cabinet (reshuffle) during an office at the Presidential Palace of the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN), East Kalimantan.
In his statement on the sidelines of activities in North Sumatra on Tuesday, September 10, Jokowi did not explicitly answer whether he would reshuffle his cabinet while at IKN.
Although several ministers and cabinet members were reported to have resigned because they were running in the 2024 Pilkada, the President only smiled at the question of a possible cabinet reshuffle.
Jokowi only explained that while based in IKN, he would continue to work as usual.
"I will have a meeting with the minister, receive guests as usual, and also conduct groundbreaking for several incoming investors," said President Jokowi.
Jokowi also emphasized that even though he is based in IKN, he will still tour various regions.
"Oh no, I am going to all regions. I am going to the area, maybe only departing from IKN. We will see the condition, if the airport is only ready to be able to fly, yes from a new airport. If not, then from Balikpapan," he said.
President Joko Widodo is scheduled to have an office in IKN for approximately 40 days, starting from September 11 to October 19, 2024, or the day before the inauguration of the elected president and vice president, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
In addition, President Jokowi is also scheduled to chair a plenary cabinet meeting at the IKN Presidential Palace this week.
