Suspected Terrorist Arrested At Condet East Jakarta, Deputy Governor Riza: We Must Tighten Monitoring

JAKARTA - The police arrested four suspected terrorists in Condet, East Jakarta and Sukasari Village, Bekasi. Responding that one of its areas is known as a place for suspected terrorists, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria admitted that he would tighten supervision.

"We have to tighten supervision. I think the National Police Chief has made extra efforts in order to thoroughly investigate the culprit," said Riza at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Monday, March 29 evening.

Riza admitted that capital cities in an area are usually the target of acts of terrorism, including Jakarta. This is because Jakarta is a strategic place for transit.

"Indeed, Jakarta is the capital city of the country. Everyone transits comfortably in Jakarta from the regions. They probably live usually around Jakarta. So, not all of them are in Jakarta, right?" Said Riza.

He then asked his citizens to report to the authorities if they saw suspicious behavior. This appeal is to anticipate acts of terror such as the Makassar bombing case, South Sulawesi.

"What is no less important is the efforts of the community to help all of us take precautions. If there is information, suspicious behavior should be reported to us immediately or directly to the security forces, to the police," he said.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya raided the residence of suspected terrorists in Condet, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. In addition, Densus 88 Anti-terror also arrested a suspected terrorist in Sukasari Village, Serang Baru District, Bekasi Regency. This suspected terrorist is suspected of being the owner of the explosives.

Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran said the suspected terrorist with the initials HH (previously written as AA) was the mastermind of a terrorist group that was arrested in Condet, East Jakarta and Sukasari Village, Bekasi Regency. AA is also known as a financier to the technical and tactical regulator in planning terror acts.

"He planned, organized tactical and technical arrangements with ZA. Then attended several meetings to prepare for these amaliah activities. Financed and sent a video about the technicality of manufacture to 3 other suspects," said Inspector General Fadil.

Meanwhile, other terrorist suspects have a different role. For the initials ZA played the role of buying explosive raw materials.

"Saduara ZA's role is to buy raw materials and explosives such as acetone, HCL, thermometer, and aluminum powder, informing BS on how to manufacture and how to mix the prepared liquids," he said.

For other terrorist suspects, namely, BS (previously written as DS) played a role in knowing the manufacture of explosives (explosives) and participating in making together with suspected terrorist AJ.

"The role of (AJ) was to know and assist ZA during the manufacture of explosives, and together with BS, to attend the meeting in the context of preparing for terror using explosives," said Fadil.
