Israeli Attack On Syria Kills 14 People, Targets Chemical Weapons Research Center
JAKARTA - A total of 14 people died on Sunday evening in a number of Israeli attacks targeting around Masyaf, the city of Hama province, Syria.
As reported by Reuters on Monday, September 9, two regional intelligence sources said a major military research center for the production of chemical weapons located near Misyaf had been attacked several times.
The building is believed to harbor a team of Iranian military experts involved in the production of weapons.
There has been no immediate comment from Israel that usually does not comment on specific reports of attacks in Syria.
Since Hamas attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers on October 7, Israel has stepped up its attacks on targets of Iran-backed militias in Syria and also attacked Syrian army air defenses and several Syrian troops.
At around 23.20 Sunday night, Israeli enemies launched airstrikes from northwest of Lebanon, targeting a number of military locations in the central region (Suriah), "a military source told the SANA news agency.
Our air defense system faced missiles of aggression and shot down some of them, continued the source, without providing further details.
A local health official quoted by SANA said 43 people were injured, including several critical people, in the attack.
Syrian state media also reported the attack caused two fires.
