Once Banned, GrabWheels Is Now Used By The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency
JAKARTA - It was forbidden to pave on the streets of the capital city. The Grabwheels electric scooter service is present within the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency.
This environmentally friendly or eco-friendly vehicle will be operated to support the mobility of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency. Through 35 electric scooters and 25 GrabWheels electric bicycles, Grab handed over to present mobility solutions in the Transportation Agency ecosystem.
"We hope to utilize and maximize GrabWheels' first-mile-and-last-mile mobility to support the mobility of our institutions," said Head of DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency Syafrin Liputo, in his official statement, Monday, March 29.
Syafrin explained that the vehicles are planned to be used by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency in short-distance mobility. For example, such as conducting morning inspections or can be used by Transportation Agency employees to drive to attend meetings in central government areas.
The initiative to deliver environmentally friendly vehicles is part of the Grab Electric Vehicle Roadmap and is also a long-term commitment to support government efforts to reduce carbon emissions in Indonesia.
Director of Government Affairs and Strategic Collaboration Grab Indonesia Uun Ainurrofiq hopes that the program can have a positive impact on government officials and can support the implementation of Ingub DKI 66/2019 concerning air quality control.
"This initiative is part of our commitment to increase the use of electric vehicles in the government ecosystem. We hope that our GrabWheels vehicle can be an operational solution for the Transportation Agency. And we hope to always have a more positive impact through Grab's technology solutions, especially for the Indonesian Government, "said Uun.
It is known that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has been intensively controlling air quality in recent years to reduce carbon emission levels in the capital and improve air quality for Jakarta residents.
The most recent thing that was massive was a carbon emission test on motor vehicle exhaust in early 2021 referring to the Governor Regulation 66/2020 concerning Motor Vehicle Exhaust Emission Testing.
