Preventing Terrorism, DKI Spreads Duta Damai To Teach School Children Not To Be Radical
JAKARTA - The head of the DKI Jakarta National and Political Unity Agency, Taufan Bakri, said that his party would instruct the Jakarta Peace Ambassador to take efforts to prevent radicalism.
Later, Duta Damai Jakarta will be deployed to schools to educate students. Students are taught to understand the dangers of radicalism which is an impetus for acts of terrorism.
"We have invited Duta Damai's children to go to schools. Later, through virtual work, we will fight against radicalism," said Taufan when contacted, Monday, March 29.
Taufan said that this effort was reflected in the suicide bombing in front of the Cathedral Church in Makassar City, South Sulawesi on Sunday, March 28. According to him, all students need to be taught anti-radicalism from an early age.
"We also continue to build tolerance among students, because if students are hurt by thoughts that are not comfortable, it can be bad," he said.
In addition, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government agrees with the DKI Jakarta Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) to state the discomfort with the acts of terror in Makassar City. Taufan said that the acts of terror were not only injuring the Christian community, but also the people of Jakarta from various religions.
"We say to the PGI (Indonesian Church Association) and KWI (Indonesian Bishops' Conference), (if there is an act of terror), it is not only him who is attacked, but the entire Jakarta community who is attacked. It is not his religious component, but he injures the citizens of Jakarta," he explained .
A suicide bombing rocked the Cathedral Church, Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Sunday, March 28. Dozens of people were recorded as injured. Meanwhile, the perpetrators are said to be two people, who are male and female.
From the identification results, it was found that the male suicide bomber had the initials L. While the female perpetrator was still identified.
Based on the data base, the perpetrators of this suicide bombing were a large terrorist network. This network had spread terror in the Philippines.
This suicide bombing is also closely related to the arrest of dozens of suspected terrorists in Makassar. This is because the perpetrators and suspected terrorists who were arrested by Densus 88 Anti-terror in January 2021 were the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network.
